Some research for my Sunland bretheren:
Property tax rates over a 4 year period:
2007 - 13.918
2008 - 13.039
2009 - 12.059
2010 - 11.617

As you can see tax rates have actually come down over the last four years. The issue is that values have gone up - causing an overall increase in everyones property taxes. I did find out that you can appeal your taxes by filling out and submitting the form on the county web site before July 1 of every year. Good Luck!

Thanks for posting that. I guess it's time to appeal my taxes. Absolutely unbelievable that we pay taxes like that and the county does zilch for us for our tax dollar. I know that argument won't win an appeal but it's time that we got something for our money.

How would this work for this year on taxes?We would have to obviously pay for April . Would it change the amount for 2011 or for fall 2010? Has anyone yet tried? Also if so has anyone had a manufactured home and tried? The form seems abit confusing for older people.Could anyone that fills it out give some advice once they are done.Thanks everyone.
